Tehran, Iran – Authorities warned they will use force against anyone harming national security or aiding “enemies.” The warnings come as the war with the United States and Israel enters its second week.
The Ministry of Intelligence said “American-Zionist mercenaries” are photographing missile impact points. They send the footage to “terrorist satellite networks” and foreign-based online pages.
Israel-Aligned Agents to Face Severe Punishment
The ministry said “soldiers of Israel” acted as the fifth column of the Zionist regime. They spied inside the country. Authorities warned they will face severe punishment under a law amended after the 12-day war with the US and Israel in June 2025.
Public Urged to Report Suspicious Activity
The ministry renewed its call for people to report suspicious activity. Citizens should use phone calls or local messaging services. The global internet remains disconnected. This blackout has lasted more than a week since the war began. The opening salvo killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and top commanders in downtown Tehran.
State Media Limits Access to News
The internet blackout has forced Iranians to rely on state media. State channels do not cover many developments. They focus mostly on Iranian strikes. Forced evacuation orders by the Israeli military receive little coverage.
Satellite Channels Fill the Gap
Many Iranians follow news via foreign-based Persian-language channels. Satellite connections allow them to access these channels at home.
Authorities Escalate Measures to Control Media and Ensure Security
Authorities have been sending jamming signals to block certain channels. They claim some are “terrorist” outlets funded by opponents to push for regime change in Iran.
On Saturday, police sent mass text messages to the “resistant people of Islamic Iran.” They warned that footage of strikes is being sent to “masters” abroad. The messages urged citizens to stop this.
Two military commanders said the armed forces have permission to fire live bullets at offenders. Police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan told state TV his forces must shoot any “thieves” who threaten state security. Many residents have left Tehran and other cities to seek safety, as officials encouraged.
