The newly introduced franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, has recruited the services of Australian ace batter Glenn Maxwell for the historic season 11.

The news was confirmed through the official social media handles of the franchise.

โ€œInevitable? Nothing but destruction. Hold onto your seats tight, the biggest show in #HBLPSL is about to begin,โ€ it added.

This will be the talismanic batterโ€™s first stint in the PSL, having previously played for several teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Glenn Maxwell, 37, has vast experience with 129 T20I matches and 2,897 runs at a strike rate of 158.42.

For the unversed, Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen have made their way into the PSL after being bought by Fawad Sarwarโ€™s Kingsmen Group, who won the franchise rights with a bid of Rs1.75 billion (approximately $6.25 million).

On the field, the franchise has started forming a strong team.

They have retained budding players Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Maaz Sada

The team has also formed a strong coaching staff. Former Australia fast bowler Jason Gillespie has been appointed as the head coach, while Grant Bradburn will take up the position of fielding coach under his supervision.

The historic season of PSL 11 is expected to commence from March 26, while the eagerly awaited player auction is expected to take place on February 11.
