Tehran: The United States and Israel launched a large-scale military offensive against Iran, striking multiple sites, including Tehran and other major cities, officials said.
In response, Iranian forces fired ballistic missiles and drones at Israeli territory and US military bases across the region, sharply escalating Middle East tensions.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched its first wave of missile and drone attacks against Israel in retaliation, Tasnim reported.
Israel’s military activated air raid sirens nationwide to prepare for possible Iranian missile strikes.
In a video statement, the US President said the United States had begun a major military operation in Iran and vowed to eliminate what he called the regime’s threat.
France, Germany, and Britain Signal Readiness for Defensive Measures Against Iran
France, Germany, and Britain issued a joint statement declaring their readiness to defend their interests and allies in the Middle East.
They strongly condemned Iran’s missile attacks, calling them indiscriminate and disproportionate. The three governments said Tehran also targeted countries not involved in the initial US and Israeli operations.
They added that, if necessary, they would take steps to neutralise Iran’s missile and drone capabilities.
