Umerov’s counsel told journalists independently that the meeting on Thursday will be in Geneva, which hosted addresses with Russian, Ukrainian, and US officers before this month.
Other issues on the docket for Thursday are internee- of- war exchanges and a “ substance package ” for the reconstruction of Ukraine, Zelensky said.
Witkoff verified the addresses before this week saying the end was to “ explore different duplications about how we might get to a peace deal. ”
United States has been pushing for an end to the war that has entered its fifth time and which has killed knockouts of thousands and destroyed much of eastern and southern Ukraine.
Moscow and Kyiv remain at odds over who gets what land in apost-war agreement.
Russia is pushing for full control of Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, and has hovered to take it by force if Kyiv does n’t delve
at the negotiating table.
But Ukraine has rejected the demand and gestured it would not subscribe a deal without security guarantees that discourage Russia from overrunning again.
